The pile of grannies is growing.
In this recent post i told you about my intention to make a plaid for my daughter Nika, for her birthday in July.
So at least once a day, almost every night i use my croceht hook and increase the stack of granny squares.
Not that it takes that much effort to make lots and lots of squares for my beautiful daughter.
It's worth doing it. Square after square!

Lot's of activities to do this weekend, but i am glad it's the end of the week.
I worked on some new fabric designs, since it has been a while i came up with my own fabric since the introduction of the apple print & the flower power design.
Now I'd like to spend some time with the family.

This is a picture of my brand new pants. Both in pastel colors. The light green pants in a slim jeans model and the pink is a cotton chino.
When you have legs like mine, then you know it's hard to find a good pair of pants that are long enough and also have a waist that fits. Almost mision impossible. So my wardrobe is crammed with dresses and tops and less with well-fitting trousers.
I don't even have nice jeans. You know, like the kind of jeans you want to wear every day, 'cause it looks good (sexy) on you and feels like a second skin.
These two come close to my wishes and hurray, weren't that harsh for my wallet!

And then the hangers. Found in a thriftshop for just € 0,20 each. I have four copies, also in red.

So, a good beginning of my weekend.

Lots of new haberdashery today (i love this word!) in the shop.
My favorite is the old pink lace. You can decorate a shelf from a brocante cabinet or use the lace for a finishing touch for your handmade cushion.
The lace is also available in kaki.

She downloades her movies on Youtube and one of the last movies she made, goes back in time, as she calls it herself.
I am so proud of her! My eleven years old, little Nika, almost ready for secondary school next summer.

Since i showed my first patchwork plaid on flickr i got requests from customers to make also a custom made plaid for them. I have tons of leftover (retro) fabrics, waiting for a transformation. If you want i use my alphabet stamps, ribbons or iron-ons to give your plaid an extra personal touch. I So from now on you can order a cosy, cotton, handmade stof enzo plaid yourself. On the backside of the plaid i usually use a gingham fabric. But everything is possible.

The sizes come in single, double & kids:

The weather the last few days is splendid, but nature is definitly upset. It's too hot this time of year.

How little money i have in my wallet, i can't help myself buying flowers at our local florist or supermarket.
Look at the soft tones. Looks perfect in my vintage vases, don't you think? The vase on the left i bought in Berlin, a couple of weeks ago at the secondhandstore VEB Orange. The candlestick is an oldie from Hema. The round vase in the middle is also from VEB orange. And the striped vase i bought via Marktplaats.

The interior of Michelbergerhotel, friedrichshain, Berlin is so taken care off. Really charming. Retro vases filled with little flowers, old suitcases, all kind of thrift finds, simple tiles, cosy tables & chairs. To much to see. And, enamel buckets from De Emaillekeizer! You can imagine the camera was clicking all the time:) and not only my camera.

Last Sunday i went by my own to `Midnight in Paris`, a movie by Woody Allen. Enjoyed it. Made me want to go to Paris. Never felt the urge to go and i only live like a 6 hours drive from this beautifull city. Shame on me!

The market last sunday on the sundaymarket in Amsterdam went very well.
The weather was good, kind people as usual and the sale was great. See the plastic fantastic hangers in the enamel bowls? A unique sundaymarket special. A great succes, especially among kids. I also had neon cord for the plastic fantastic litlle animals so you could make out a chain of it. For only € 0,75. Simple but effective!

I skip over the summer for the sundaymarket but next September I will definitely be back for the whole winterseason.

Finally a new blogpost. I was so busy this week and the week before we were in the lovely province Zeeuws-Vlaanderen. We dared to stay on a camping(!) with our new tent for a couple of days.
Today is an offical Holiday, as well as tomorrow, so I will take it easy, more or less: this weekend 4 kids were staying over last night.

Last sunday i didn't visit the sunday market as a visitor and especially as a buyer of earrings for my daughter. I like the athmosphere of this hip market in an upcoming part of Amsterdam. The stallholders are all friendly and willing to tell you about their creations. This time, on the first of may, the day after queensday, i had a market stall myself. It was fun. Had a really great time, enjoying the people, had fun in selling, talking to the visitors. So, hope to see you next time in June!

Yes, the cabinet arrived. Last friday I went with a friend to vandijkenko (i live nearby) in Amsterdam. And then there was this beauty, a little bit hidden in a (cosy) corner, the right cabinet for our kitchen. It has all the conditions what i was searching for a handy cabinet: white, not to big but with enough storage, made out of wood, old, authentic, just ready to be used.

I posted this picture yesterday on flickr. When our children were much younger, they love to play with the red elephant. Now they have other advanced toys and activities. A friend of my just got a baby (one of the loviest babies i have seen in al long time), but i wasn't read yet to give elephant away. So it is still in the house, the livingroom to be precious, and guess what? The kids, their friends, play with the big red toy!

I made this covers last weekend. from leftovers and with a little bit of help from HEMA (the plain covers). The bright color effect turned out well thanks to the color yellow.
